Privacy Policy

Haven is a location-sharing app for trusted circles — partners, family members, and close friends. Because location is sensitive information, this policy pays particular attention to how it is collected, shared, and controlled.

We collect information in three general categories:

• Account information: name, phone number, and basic profile details you provide when creating an account or accepting an invitation.
• Location information: device location, saved places (such as Home or Work), and place-arrival or place-departure events, collected only while location sharing is active.
• Usage information: device type, app version, and general diagnostic data used to keep the service reliable and secure.

Location sharing is always mutual and consent-based. A connection between two people is only established after the invited contact explicitly accepts an invitation. Either person can pause or end location sharing at any time, without needing to explain why, and doing so takes effect immediately for future location updates.

We do not sell location data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

• To provide core features: live location, place alerts, route timeline, and SOS.
• To secure accounts and prevent unauthorized access.
• To send service notifications, such as alerts you’ve chosen to receive.
• To diagnose issues and improve reliability and performance.

Information is shared only with the specific people in your trusted circle who have accepted a connection with you, and only for the categories of updates you’ve selected (for example, place alerts but not full route history). We do not share your location with contacts outside your circle.

Location history is retained only as long as needed to power features like the recent route timeline, and is deleted on a rolling basis. If you end a connection with a contact or delete your account, associated location data is removed from active systems within a reasonable operational period.

• Choose exactly which alerts and updates you send and receive, per contact.
• Pause or stop sharing at any time from within the app.
• Remove a trusted contact, which immediately ends sharing in both directions.
• Request a copy of your data or ask that your account be deleted.

Haven is intended for use by adults inviting members of their trusted circle, which may include a child or dependent as a connected contact managed by a parent or guardian. The app is not intended for independent use by children under the age required by their local law to consent to data processing without guardian involvement.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect account and location information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to continually improve these protections.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly within the app.
